Zo works as a volunteer at Haven Women’s Center in Modesto, California. Haven is a non-profit organization consisting of a group of dedicated staff and volunteers who share their time by helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Haven's services are designed to empower and support women in their personal decisions. Women are given the opportunity to safety plan and regain control of their lives. Zo received training as a peer councilor and currently works in two areas. He works as a Legal Advocate, assisting clients through the process of restraining orders, mediation, and court accompaniment and he works in a program called Kids Count. Kids Count is an eight week group for children ages 4-12 whose lives have been touched by domestic violence. “We help them understand that violence is not their fault and we assist them to safety plan and to deal with their emotions.”

Zo’s history is an embodiment of the American dream. His father came to this country, at age 16, as an immigrant, because it offered him opportunity and freedom. Zo grew up in Brooklyn, New York and couldn’t wait for his 17th birthday, so he could join the U.S. Marines, and serve his country. After his honorable discharge, he worked for TWA and transferred from his native New York to California, where his first entrepreneurial enterprise was the introduction of New York soft pretzels to the people of California. Later he went from pretzels to ownership of an industrial supply business, then to being an independent rep for Shaklee Corporation; then on to advertising sales. After a successful career in sales, Zo decided that the daily grind and working for somebody else were not for him; and he went on to achieve outstanding success, working from home, in the direct marketing industry. It was here that he discovered his passion for leading and inspiring others to create prosperity and freedom in their own lives.

But as reflection of his true values, in spite of all his achievements, Zo’s greatest satisfaction in life comes from his wife, Kay, their son, his four daughters, and eleven grandchildren.
